Ema

I love watching movies, I love going to the movies.

I go every time I can, and when I can't I go anyways. And it's very difficult to decide what my favorite movie would be, so I'll talk about the last movie I went to see at the cinema: Ema, by Chilean director Pablo Larraín.
I went to see this movie last week, with three friends.

Ema stars Mariana di Girolamo, as Ema, and Gael García, as Gastón, her husband.
The film is set in Valparaíso, and is about a young couple, Ema and Gastón, both involved in a contemporary dance company, who decide to return their adopted son.

Ema wants to fix the damage she has done to her son, but otherwise, she feels unable to take care of him.
The film shows some difficulties of the adoption process and how painful it can be, also questioning the meaning of family.

It is more symbolic and experimental. Through dance, it delivers a strange and extravagant feeling, a little difficult to digest.
I liked it a lot, from the plot to the aesthetics of the film, the colors, the dance,  the movements and the wonderful performance of Mariana di Girolamo, which I found very real and I thought she rehearsed a lot to dance everything she danced.

One movie that I fully recommend and I also recommend the soundtrack, which has an original song.
